Contract length: 6 months with possibility of extension.

The role:

The Proposal & Reports Coordinator will assist the Director of PDQ, the Awards Manager and the overall Operations and Program teams with the development of new projects, particularly by coordinating the proposal process and taking leadership of the proposal writing. The Coordinator will also be responsible for the programmatic reporting to donors and external parties by leading the report writing process ensuring that quality reports are produced. The Coordinator will also participate in humanitarian coordination and information meetings on behalf of Save the Children and communicate routine data and program successes in such forums.

Qualifications and experience:

Essential

  • Significant experience of working internationally in humanitarian programmes
  • Excellent written and spoken French and English
  • Previous experience of project management and project cycle management, including project design, implementation and evaluation
  • Experience of leading the preparation successful funding (narrative and budget) proposals and reports for donors, including ECHO, DFID and OFDA. Understanding of CAP and Appeal processes
  • Good understanding of donor compliance and reporting mechanisms and requirements
  • Demonstrated experience of participating in multi-sector needs assessments
  • Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
  • Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children. In particular, a good understanding of the Save the Children mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support

Desirable

  • Education to MSc/MA/MEng level in a relevant subject or equivalent field experience
  • Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant regions/contexts
  • Specific experience of developing proposals for consortia projects
  • Experience of leading needs assessments
  • Experience of Save the Children member proposal development and reporting mechanisms.
