CARE International UK is looking for an experienced humanitarian cash & markets specialist to support CARE’s Country offices to deliver high quality cash transfer programmes and market-based approaches before, during and after emergencies, and to support CARE in learning from and further developing its cash- and market-based interventions.

The role will give the opportunity to contribute directly to emergency responses and humanitarian projects around the world, but also to ensure that lessons from those responses are learnt and disseminated widely. The workload will be varied, interesting and challenging, and will include contributing to assessment, analysis, programme design and implementation of projects in country as well as giving the opportunity to contribute to policy development and research and development in the UK.

CARE International UK’s Humanitarian Team is committed to developing both CARE’s capacity and that of the wider humanitarian sector to increase both the proportion of and quality of humanitarian programming delivered as cash. The role is a key strategic part of delivering that commitment. CARE has a strong focus on gender-responsive and transformative programming which contributes to building resilience, to women’s economic empowerment and to good governance. We are looking for a candidate who shares our commitment to these areas.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and interested individual who has a good understanding of humanitarianism and has a strong vision for what can be achieved by delivering high-quality cash transfer programmes in food security programmes but also in CARE’s other core response sectors of WASH and shelter. We are looking for someone who can effectively influence and can work well in a diverse team.

CARE is one of the world’s leading humanitarian and development charities.  We work in 79 developing countries, saving lives in emergencies and finding long-term solutions to poverty for millions of people every year.  We put women and girls in the centre because we know that we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities.  We believe strongly that business has an important role to play in creating opportunities and reducing barriers for people living in poverty and would like to invite you to be a part of making this change happen.
