Contract length: 6 months


The role (Based in Bouar Field Office)

The Deputy Health and Nutrition Coordinator is responsible, under direction of Health and Nutrition Coordinator, for the effective quality and the effectiveness of the complete implementation of Health and Nutrition activities in its health and particularly nutrition component, which involves primary health care activities in Nana Mambere prefecture.


Qualifications and experience

Essential

  • Significant management experience working in an emergency response or fragile states, including health and nutrition programmes
  • Education to Masters level in Public Health Nutrition, or a related subject, or equivalent field experience
  • Proven experience in the clinical management of severe acute malnutrition
  • Proven M&E experience
  • Demonstrable analytical skills
  • Demonstrable experience in supervising, coaching and training others
  • At least 3 years of professional experience on health in humanitarian/conflict settings with international stakeholders
  • Fluency in spoken French, good command of written and spoken English
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to cope with stress and basic living conditions
  • Willingness to work in unstable and remote environments

Desirable

  • Medical doctor with proven competencies in clinical medicine and in project management
  • Experience with the clinical management of survivors of rape
  • Previous professional experience with Save the Children
