Contract length: 6 Months

The Role:
The DFID Project Coordinator will oversee the grant management of the Syria response DFID grant. The funding covers nutrition, health, food security and livelihoods, WASH and shelter programming, undertaken through both direct and indirect implementation. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that DFID contractual obligations, such as financial and narrative reporting, are met and that donor regulations are followed. They will coordinate the planning and monitoring of the DFID project activities and will support coordination between colleagues in Iraq and Lebanon and those in the Turkey office, ensuring effective budget and programme monitoring and that any modifications are in line with the project objectives. The Coordinator will also ensure consistent, regular and high quality communication with donor representatives and Save the Children UK as the Member holding contractual responsibility for the grant, alo ng with the Country Director and Director Programme Development and Quality.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential
- Degree or post-graduate qualification ideally with a specialisation in development, humanitarian aid, international law, social sciences or another relevant field
- Outstanding project management and coordination skills with at least 3 years international professional experience in Project Cycle Management/coordination
- Financial/budget management skills
- Proven experience of managing relationships in complex organizations with numerous stakeholders in different locations
- Ability to work in a team with programme staff at all levels without holding any direct line management authority
- Excellent analytical and writing skills in English
- Familiarity and ideally one year's experience with proposal writing, logical framework development, donor compliance and donor reporting (DFID ECHO, , UNHCR, OFDA etc)
- IT skills, especially in Word and Excel with ability to analyse data and interpret statistical information
- Ability to work under pressure, and prioritise workload according to the changing needs of the programme
- High-level communications and people skills. Good networker, able to adroitly negotiate between the different stakeholders, and to represent the programme at high level forums. Proven analytical and strategic planning skills
- Previous experience in donor reporting particularly to DFID
- Commitment to the values and principles of Save the Children.

Desirable
- Previous experience in the Syria response
