MEAQ Database Developer

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who has the skills to engage in our organization as a MEAQ (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Quality) Database Developer.

Who are we?
DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.
DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.

Duties
• Harmonize existing data sets across the DRC Lebanon programs, including with project implementing partners interested in data sharing and integration;
• Work with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Project Officer to develop and maintain a user-friendly interface for the database; 
• Develop, test and validate the database queries and data sheets in consultation with the M&E Project Officer; 
• Obtain, compile and analyze data from on the program indicators, and develop database system to disseminate in appropriate formats for improving the programmatic decision making and planning process; 
• Train DRC project staff on the use of the database; 
• Develop and maintain documentation database/design documentation and operating manual on how to use the database for the MEAQ project;

About you
To be successful in this role you must have:

• Extensive experience programming FileMaker databases; 
• Minimum of 5 years work experience in database design or database administration;
• Data management and data analysis, significant experience in understanding the analysis of data and producing reports; 
• Ability to design the structure of the database and design appropriate interfaces for data entry and ensure data quality and security; 
• Ideally you will also have familiarity with DRC and/or Syria emergency response, although this is not essential.

We offer
An interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a15 days Consultancy contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from September 2014 and be willing and able to work in Beirut.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals and Internationals. Daily rate: $150- $500 depending on years of Experience.
