We are looking for a Humanitarian Operations Learning Manager to lead a team in the delivery and expansion of the Humanitarian Operations Programme ensuring quality and academic rigour at all times.

Working in more than 120 countries, we do whatever it takes to create breakthroughs in the way the world treats children. Our Humanitarian department integrates emergency and development work, through our country programmes. It increases our capacity to meet the assistance and protection needs of children and their families affected by crises. Together, we save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential.

As Humanitarian Operations Learning Manager you will lead on the strategy development of the Humanitarian Operations Programme and provide management to the London based Humanitarian Operations. You will also ensure all direct and indirect reports receive effective performance management. In addition you will:

  • Ensure all training activities are monitored and evaluated and that there is continuous improvement of the programme
  • Lead on the management of all facilitators at all residential training events
  • Ensure that the newly translated French HOP is accredited by an established French speaking academic institute
  • Engage with external networks and organisations to develop, sustain and enhance the multi-agency nature of the HOP
  • Lead on team marketing and communication work.

 To be successful you will be flexible, a strong team player and will thrive on a challenge. You will have excellent project management and organisation skills gained through managing complex cross-organisational projects and events. You will also have knowledge and direct experience of people development approaches and methodology. In addition you will have:

 

  • The ability to network and build relationships intra and inter agency
  • Experience in the assessment of performance through  the use of core competency frameworks
  • Budgeting and financial management skills gained through budget-holding responsibilities
  • A broad understanding of human rights and development issues, international relations, emergency response and the international humanitarian system
  • Field experience in a humanitarian programme.
