About Us

This is an exciting opportunity as Country Director to establish Marie Stopes International's newest country programme, and to know that your work will really significantly change and impact the lives of many women and their communities in Niger. Marie Stopes International develops efficient, effective and sustainable family planning and reproductive health programme's, with particular emphasis on the lower income and disadvantaged communities in Niger. The goal is to meet the needs of underserved individuals and dramatically improve access to and use of family planning and other reproductive health services.

As we enter into this period of scale-up, we are looking for a visionary Country Director responsible for developing and delivering a country strategy, attracting donor investment to underpin that strategy and utilising Marie Stopes International's expertise and social business approaches to be at the cutting edge of service delivery in Niger. You will be an inspirational leader, with the ability to develop a passionate and committed team of professionals who deliver life-saving services. You will also be responsible for developing new commercial opportunities, through sound marketing and robust financial planning; ensuring quality operations are in line with annual and long term strategic goals and objectives.

Key Result Areas

  1. Building lasting relationships to ensure excellentrelationships are established and maintained with all key external stakeholders and donors, while ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the programmes.
  2. Finance: Ensuring the programme is put on a strong financial footing, with investment secured to support growth over years to come.
  3. Leadership: - Leading a start-up programme with substantial growth opportunities together with programme implementation. Providing overall team leadership and strategic direction to the team
  4. Strategic and Annual Planning: Ensure successful strategic development and national expansion of the programme in line with the values of the Global Partnership and the end goal of a sustainable organisation leading the way in the health sector.

About you

You will be a self-starter with experience of working in international challenging and complex environments with technical and competence in Sexual Reproductive Health & Family Planning services, together with excellent communication and financial skills. You will have experience of designing and delivering strategic annual business plans, managing growth and generating programme investment from donor funding and/or commercial activities with a proven record of delivering results.
