You will be at the heart of a team that leads Oxfam`s humanitarian work, responding to emergencies worldwide.

The role

This position is one of three global EFSVL advisers in a first class emergency food security team, providing technical support to country teams on all aspects of their EFSVL programming and strategies. You will work closely with select countries to which we provide ongoing support from emergency response to resilience. You will also be the first responder for any humanitarian emergencies in these countries. You will participate in all aspects of the EFSVL team’s daily work and technically, will lead Oxfam’s work in market analysis and markets based programmes in emergencies.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with strong demonstrable technical experience in food and nutrition security and livelihoods in both slow and rapid onset contexts; experience in implementation and strategy development of markets work in humanitarian contexts, with knowledge of the current trends in markets based emergency work. You also have solid knowledge and practical experience of cash programming, of market analysis and market based programming in emergency contexts, and of social protection, and an understanding of the links between humanitarian and development work, particularly around market programming.

In addition you will have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field with considerable overseas experience. You will have excellent analytical and critical thinking skills and strong communication skills. A team player, you will be self motivated and able to juggle multiple priorities under pressure.
