Oxfam has started a response Programme in Iraq, following the current and earlier conflicts that have led to the displacement of over 1.8 million people. The main focus will be on IDP’s but, recognising the burden host communities bare, our interventions will also seek to impact on host communities and Syrian refugees.  

As a result we are looking to recruit an experienced Public Health Promotion team leader & community mobiliser as soon as possible.

The key responsibilities of the roles will be:

  • Carry out initial and ongoing assessments of the public health (WaSH) needs of the affected population  Develop, co-ordinate, implement and monitor WASH community mobilisation activities 
  • Make clear recommendations for public health promotion and mobilisation initiatives that are appropriate for the social, cultural and geographical context
  • Develop and deliver training in small project management for community groups 
  • Develop with the WaSH and MEAL teams the monitoring and evaluation tools 
  • Provide support to local partners and build their capacity in PHP and community mobilisation
