We are looking for an experienced individual to join us as Due Diligence Platform Manager, playing an important role in revolutionizing our due diligence by creating a global due diligence database.

The Start Network is made up of 42 aid agency members across five continents, ranging from large international organisations to national NGOs. Our aim is to deliver more effective emergency aid, harnessing the power and knowledge of the network to make faster and better decisions to help people affected by crises. We advocate radical change in the system so that the world can deal better with the humanitarian challenges of today, and of the future.

Our work focuses on three areas to change the system:

  • Localisation: We believe a more balanced system, that shifts power to those closest to the front line will generate more effective and appropriate responses for people affected by crises.
  • New forms of financing: We believe that by understanding the risks we face and providing fast, early, and dependable funding, we can: 1) help communities to become better prepared and more resilient to crises, 2) help civil society organisations be more effective, and 3) we can mobilise new resources for humanitarian action
  • Collective innovation: We believe that new ways of working are needed to tackle the challenges we face. By innovating collectively, we can share expertise, insights and perspectives to shape a more effective humanitarian system.

The Start Network is currently hosted by Save the Children (StC) UK on behalf of all member agencies and is working towards independent status in 2018, spinning off what will become the Start Platform.  This role will be hired into Save the Children and then transfer to the Platform at the point of independence.

The Start Network is partnering with a tech developer and other civil society actors to make the global platform a reality. As Due Dilligence Platform Manager you will play a key role in this exciting new project, strategically managing the complexities of the project and working with the Head of Communications and Head of Fundraising to create engagement strategies to influence critical donors to use the platform. In addition you will:

  • Be responsible for the success of the development, pilot and scaling of a global due diligence platform that enables a greater diversity of actors to join the Start Network
  • Work with the Head of Network Development and Engagement to ensure alignment of due diligence platform with network development transition strategy
  • Be responsible for managing relationships with grant custodians, to ensure alignment of due diligence solutions
  • Be responsible for the success of the partnership with tech provider, and other civil society partners to develop a due diligence solution.

At Save the Children we are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children in our work. We will do everything possible to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children are recruited to work for us. This post is subject to a range of vetting checks including a criminal records disclosure.

If you share our belief in the power of children, join the fight. It takes relentless determination, creativity and a real commitment to real change. Because every child should be able to make their mark on their world, and help to build a better future. We look forward to hearing from you.
