Country Health Director


Qualifications and experience:

Essential

  • Health professional with Master of Public Health or equivalent post-graduate qualification
  • At least 10 years of experience in humanitarian health
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices in facility settings, previous experience in infectious disease control
  • Demonstrated technical ability in public health situation analysis and health care systems in low-income countries
  • Strong reporting skills
  • Substantial experience working within primary health care facilities in low income countries.
  • Previous experience of managing large, multi-donor health portfolios
  • Experience with health management and information systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary, multi-cultural team
  • Ability to motivate and support team in stressful situations
  • Fluency in English

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working with hemorrhagic fever
  • Previous experience and knowledge of West Africa
  • Knowledge of Save the Children systems and ways of working
