In our UK and Global Programmes department, we fight for children every single day. We deliver humanitarian and development programmes. As Senior Programme Manager you will contribute to the development of new business practices and tools to streamline processes and improve quality and efficiency of work. You will also monitor and oversee all of SCUK projects within specific assigned country/countries and develop and maintain key donor relationships for selected countries. In addition you will:

  • Have input in or lead on bid management for SCUK institutional and non-institutional proposals
  • Serve as key donor focal point for HQ level donors on specific country portfolios
  • Build strong and effective relationships with key staff and counterparts in SCI country offices and coordinate the provision of appropriate support for the effective delivery of quality programmes
  • Ensure all SCUK awards in the portfolio are compliant with donor requirements and SC quality standards.

To be successful you will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject or have relevant experience in a related field. Flexible and proactive, you will have extensive experience in project and grant/contract management with knowledge of institutional donor compliance requirements. Significant experience of working in the international development sector, including in overseas roles, is also essential. In addition you will have:

  • Experience of proposal development and report writing, particularly in reference to DFID, EuropeAid, ECHO and/or UNICEF
  • Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different organisations, functions, and cultures
  • Strong relationship development skills, particularly at a distance
  • Extensive experience working with institutional donors such as DFID, EC, ECHO, UNICEF etc.
  • Excellent organisational skills and good attention to detail.
