The role
The Finance and Grants Director is responsible for developing the Grants Strategy including the communication of funding opportunities and the application, selection and assessment processes for applicants. This role is responsible for establishing standards of accountability for partners and designing and managing systems for partner monitoring and providing support to partners to improve organisational systems. The role requires experience in partnership programs and approaches as well as solid financial management skills.
The role will support an established team and mentoring of the team is a key objective. Flexible working arrangements (part time) will be considered in support of the objective of empowering the team.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Experience in grants management function and designing and managing grant funding procedures.
- Experience in working with partner organisations in development work including working with a organisations with diverse organisational systems.
- Experience of developing capacity building approaches to strengthen operational policies and systems.
- Strong knowledge of financial management with a relevant professional qualification.
- Proven ability to think strategically, to analyze complex information and offer creative, practical and high-impact solutions
- Previous experience of managing and developing a team and the ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
Desirable:
- Experience working in Myanmar or regionally
- Experience working in politically sensitive, post-conflict, multi-cultural environments
- An in depth understanding of national and international development issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
