About the role

The Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Advisor will support Save the Children in building and strengthening an efficient and resilient pharmaceutical supply chain in order to support the delivery of international health programmes.  The role will create practical supply chain management guidelines and tools in line with SCUK and SCI policy, as well as providing technical support to SCI logistics staff and projects.  The post holder will advise on medical warehousing, stock management and pharmaceutical procurement as well as proposing and supporting pharmaceutical supply chain initiatives, such as the implementation of information management systems.

About you

 Our ideal candidate will have :

  • Substantive experience in assessing, developing and managing robust end-to-end supply chains in complex contexts.

  • In depth understanding of pharmaceutical GDP and GSP principles, with a flair for meeting these within operational constraints.

  • Experience in assessing national and international pharmaceutical markets and conducting procurement both within and outside of the EU.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • Experience with establishing strong supplier relationships and monitoring supplier performance.

  • Demonstrable skills in strategic planning and decision-making and excellent analytical and problem solving ability.

  • Experience with policy development and preparing technical documents.

  • Experience with using, implementing and managing manual and electronic PMIS (pharmaceutical management information systems).

  • Experience of working with a diverse team and building relationships quickly, with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.

  • The ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.

  • Cultural awareness, with strong written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills in English.
