Contract length: 6 months


The role

The Program Manager (PM) is a member of Save the Children’s International's (SCI) Program Operations Team. Under guidance from line management of the Guinea Country Office, the Program Manager will be responsible for managing, planning and implementing the health and CP program in Conakry, Macenta and Kerouane in coordination with the technical managers. The Program Manager will be responsible for (1) developing monthly/quarterly plans based on master plans, (2) ensuring implementation of all activities to achieve expected results with high quality and (3) information / data collection and reporting (narrative) (4) Budget forecast and Budget Follow-Up, ensuring funds are spend accordingly to the phased budget. The Program Manager will also ensure that project activities follow Save the Children programming principles and approaches, draw on relevant best practices and lessons learned, improve the wellbeing of the target communities, and are compliant with donor regulations.

Qualifications and experience

Essential

  • Experience in Emergency Responses Programs.
  • Understanding of and commitment to Save the Children aims, values and principles, including rights-based approaches in development programming
  • Proven Program Management skills including reporting, planning and budget tracking capacities
  • The ability to think critically and to recommend good solutions to problems.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven ability to lead a team and being part of a team
  • Ability to mentor staff to work professionally and verifiably deliver results for project participants
  • Willingness and ability to work long hours
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • English and French

Desirable

  • Experience in the region.
