We are currently seeking to recruit an exciting position with Habitat for Humanity International, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) area office:

 

Corporate & Foundations Engagement Specialist

Habitat EMEA is moving into an exciting time of expansion, looking to dramatically increase its fundraising activities and scale up the funds raised across EMEA. As a result, we are looking for an experienced, dynamic, passionate, driven candidate to help support these activities and to develop new corporate partnerships with companies based in 20+ Western European countries. Your work will go on to help hundreds of thousands of families improve their living conditions and could be to support any one of 70+ countries around the world where Habitat works. You will be part of a small, but successful team looking to collectively raise $10m+ a year from up to 30-40 corporate partners, with the aim of expanding this donor base. The job will involve identifying the best companies to approach, finding the connection and travelling to any one of 20+ countries in Western Europe to meet with them. The best candidate will need to have experience with pitching to multi-national corporations, be passionate about Habitat's work, persistent in following up and understand, follow and contribute to the overall corporate fundraising strategy - with the ultimate aim of increasing the funds raised by our team. With the support of the Corporate Engagement manager and the donor care team, the job involves:

 

-          identifying corporate leads in 20+ countries across Western Europe - research the companies to ensure there is a good fit

-          approach the companies and prepare presentations

-          travel to meet with the companies, pitching Habitat to them

-          follow up with proposals, concept notes

-          close deals by negotiating with the companies

-          with the support of our legal team, draft and finalize contracts

-          manage and steward the partner

-          renew contracts and partnerships

-          update our donor database with all relevant steps and revenue data

-          draft internal reports as and when necessary

 

The job will also include trips hosting your corporate partners when they request to visit the programs they have funded and/or to host their employees on a volunteer trip. This could be to any one of 70+ countries around the world.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate fundraising or similar environment - Experience in new partnership acquisitions or business development - Proven track record in acquiring significant gifts from corporations/corporate foundations - Fluency in English required and efficiency in one other major European language (French ideally) preferred but not essential; - Strong sales skills and the courage to be bold with good negotiation skills; - Excellent verbal communication skills and persuasive writing skills; - Proposal-writing skills preferred but not essential; - Proficiency in email, internet, MS Word, database and spreadsheet maintenance, and PowerPoint; - Good interpersonal skills; - Ability to work and live in cross-cultural settings; - Interest in housing development; international development; poverty issues. - Willingness to travel. It will generally involve short trips to Western Europe, either day trips and/or 1-2 nights per trip - Team player with flexible approach, self-driven and able to work unsupervised

The salary is internationally competitive and includes both a financial and logistical relocation package.

The position is based in Bratislava which is a small, beautiful city. The cost of living is low and there are some wonderful places to visit close by such as Vienna (1 hour), Budapest (1 and a half hours), Prague (2 and a half hours), the Tatra mountains (2 and a half hours), the Alps (2 hours) as well as numerous other attractions. The city itself is very easy to get around, has all the facilities you need and a lot of green open areas to relax in in the summer. The summers are Mediterranean temperatures with a lot of lakes to swim in and the beach of Croatia only 4 hours away by car. The winters are snowy with skiing and ice-skating readily available.
