You will act as support to the Regional Portfolio team Programme Managers on our highest risk and most strategic awards whilst also managing a smaller portfolio of lower risk awards.

In our UK and Global Programmes department, we fight for children every single day. We deliver humanitarian and development programmes. We build partnerships with institutional donors, including governments, multi-laterals and trusts. We drive lasting change. We go the extra mile - and we don’t rest until the work is done.

As Programme Support Officer , your role will involve providing end to end grant cycle management support and may include responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Institutional and non-institutional proposals
  • Institutional and non-institutional Contracts
  • Institutional and non-institutional Reports
  • Evaluations and audits and management responses
  • Donor liaison/focal point for key HQ SCUK donors
  • Donor compliance for SCUK home donors
  • Oversee the implementation of SCUK-funded programming
  • Capacity building of CO staff to ensure quality and compliance
  • Monitoring and oversight of all SCUK projects within specific assigned country/portfolio.

To be successful you will have a background or relevant qualification in the field of international development or social/political science. You will have some experience of grant management as well as good IT skills especially Microsoft Office and MS excel. Excellent organizational skills and good attention to detail is also essential. In addition you will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, especially remotely
  • A high degree of flexibility and adaptability in order to respond to changing needs and effectively address issues
  • Experience of operating and setting up administrative systems
  • Experience of organising administrative and logistical aspects of meetings and events with limited support.
