We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that has the skills to engage in our organiation as Head of Office in Akkar area.

Who are we?

DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade , running a combination of livelihood , protection ,advocacy and relief projects .DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Syria , Tunisia/Libya , Turkey , and both a country and regional office in Jordan .
Since May 2011 , DRC has been actively involved in  the Lebanon emergency response to the Syrian crisis with presence in the North , East (Bekaa valley ) and South of Lebanon. . The DRC response is designed around 4 majors sectors: Food /NFI distribution, Protection , Shelter and livelihood support . As such , DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of UNHCR , UNICEF , WFP , ECHO and DANIDA , implying a rapid expansion of its program and structure.

Duties
  •     The Head of Office (HoO) has the overall responsibility for timely and quality implementation of the DRC humanitarian operations in his/her Area of Responsibility (AoR).
  •     The HoO is managing all human resources available in his/her AoR with the support of his/her field sector managers and the national sector coordinators.
  •     Represents DRC before relevant donors and local authorities at field level
  •     Ensure that project cycle is carefully applied (needs assessment, planning, resources allocation, beneficiaries’ selection, monitoring, supervision, reporting and evaluation),
  •     Analyse the specific local contexts, needs, gaps and constraints and provide recommendations to management on needed adjustments,
  •     Properly plan activities basis and monitor progress vs. plan
  •     Establish and/or enhance local networking and community mobilisation mechanisms to ensure smoother and safer programme’s implementation,
  •     Mentor continuously the sector field managers on management skills needed (planning, prioritisation, organisational, financial management, representation, HR management…),
  •     Oversee the implementation and optimization of admin-finance system and log-procurement system

About you

To be successful in this role you must have a minimum 5 years of management experience managing humanitarian multi-sector and multi-donor programs and in politicized settings and the ability to deal with and build the capacity of duty-bearers such as ministries, LNGOs and other local authorities. Capacity to properly manage the project cycle (undertaking assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring and documenting ones results) with monitoring-focused skills is essential in addition to full proficiency in spoken and written English. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage

An interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to work in Lebanon.
