Project Coordinator – Thomson Reuters Foundation London

The Position

The Foundation seeks a Project Coordinator to work primarily on its award-winning programme Wealth of Nations. This programme supports African media to report on and investigate the abuse of tax laws and illicit finance. The programme sits within the Foundation’s Media Development team, which runs a range of programmes aiming to foster the highest standards of journalism worldwide. Key Responsibilities
• To provide logistical support for activities including workshops and mentoring schemes
• To coordinate activities with partner organisations across Africa
• To monitor programme finances in collaboration with colleagues in the team
• To keep track of programme outputs and examples of impact, and contribute to report writing
• To write website content relating to the project
• To perform data capture and maintain database records
• To maintain the network of journalists involved in the programme
• To assist with other duties or work on other programmes, as required
• Occasional travel may be required


Person specification
• At least 3 years’ working experience
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Highly motivated with ability to work independently or in a team environment; a self-starter and problem solver, who pays attention to detail and is good on follow-through
• The ability to manage workloads effectively and to work with changing priorities and time pressures
• Excellent numerical skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds
• Experience of administrative or finance processes
• Competency in Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience with databases would be an advantage.
• Ability in French and/or Arabic would be an advantage
