MAG shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize as a founding member of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines for our work to ban landmines. Our vision is a safe and secure future for men, women and children affected by armed violence and conflict.

About the Iraq programme:

Iraq is MAG’s longest-established programme, with over 400 national staff and 40 teams operating over 5 areas in Northern Iraq. Since 1992, MAG has released land back to local populations which has been used to build &improve infrastructure, including new roads, schools and hospitals. As well as conducting technical clearance work, MAG also delivers risk education to communities, to further reduce the threat to the life and limb of local populations. MAG Iraq works in close collaboration with national & regional authorities and the UN to ensure efforts are integrated into development strategies, to ensure maximum impact on the local communities we serve.

About the role:

MAG is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage the programmes support services. You don’t need previous experience in mine action but you will need experience in overseas project management roles, within an international aid/humanitarian organisation. Reporting to the Country Director, the post-holder will be responsible for managing logistics, procurement, IT, Security, Health and Safety and administrative functions.

About you:

Given the scale and size of our Iraq programme, you’ll need to be a dynamic, motivated self-starter and able to hit the ground running. You’ll have previous overseas experience managing a wide range of support services, ideally supporting large scale projects. In particular, you will have experience in fleet management and IT, in order to recommend improvements in these areas. You will also have experience managing and developing skilled national staff in these disciplines.

The post-holder will be based in Erbil, with regular travel to operational bases throughout Northern Iraq.  Although security in this part of Iraq is more stable than in other parts of the country, living arrangements may involve limited movement.
