Do you want to play a key role in an organisation which stands up for children? We are currently looking for a Safeguarding Team Co-ordinator to support our Safeguarding Team, making it possible for our team to safeguard vulnerable people, knowing that their Team Co-ordinator is there to support them.

At Save the Children, we fight for children every single day and in our Support Services department we provide leadership and direction in the business of running an efficient organisation. We ensure our resources are used to maximum effect. We go the extra mile - and we don’t rest until the work is done.

As Safeguarding Team Coordinator you will act as a point of access to the Safeguarding Team, ensuring that internal and external queries are answered promptly and professionally. You will also maintain and create internal communications resources for the Safeguarding Team, including maintaining the intranet, creating posters and leading on internal events such as Safeguarding Week. In addition you will:

  • Support and organise key meetings and events for the Safeguarding Team, including sourcing and booking of venues/meeting rooms, collating & circulating agendas, commissioning papers, recording minutes, and following up actions accordingly
  • Provide support to team projects including: monitoring & evaluation, organising events and training, coordinating training materials and/or resources and desk-based research
  • Support the team with key support service requirements in relation to HR, Information Systems and Finance
  • Contribute to cross-organisational initiatives, actively participating to support the improvement and standardisation of systems, procedures and ways of working.

To be successful you will have substantial experience in setting up and maintaining administrative processes and office systems. Proactive, self-motivated and flexible, you will have experience providing administrative and project support to a team. In addition you will have:

  • Experience of initiating, planning and developing areas of work
  • The confidence to make judgements on when to use your initiative or when to request support
  • The ability to engage with team members, be calm under pressure and help build a team/collaborative atmosphere
  • Experience of handling sensitive and confidential information.

At Save the Children we are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children in our work. We will do everything possible to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children are recruited to work for us. This post is subject to a range of vetting checks including a criminal records disclosure.

If you share our belief in the power of children, join the fight. It takes relentless determination, creativity and a real commitment to real change. Because every child should be able to make their mark on their world, and help to build a better future. We look forward to hearing from you.
