Job Overview/Summary:

The Stewardship Manager, Leadership Gifts plays a crucial role on the Leadership Gifts team, ensuring that donors are given ample opportunities to actively engage in the IRC’s work.

The Stewardship Manager provides project management leadership and key analytical and operational support to aid in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of over 3,000 high capacity private donors and prospects. The position is integrated across a 20+ member team comprising Leadership Gifts (LG) and Board and Overseers (VP).

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Project management of all aspects of LG donor mailings and the IRC annual report donor listings/recognition. Create and implement timelines, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and ensure delivery with an exceedingly high level of quality and accuracy.
  2. Lead the development of new ways to define and capture donor-related data. Proactively streamline and improve processes that measure the effectiveness of donor engagement and enhance LG’s analytic capabilities. Promote and embed good practice and consistency across LG.
  3. Conduct the monitoring and analyzing of data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, and provide feedback and analytical-based recommendations/solutions to advance solicitation, cultivation, stewardship, and communications strategies.
  4. Develop and manage operational projects and initiatives, including carrying out research, drafting concepts and protocols, and proposing ideas, that support the advancement of the LG team’s work and the objectives of the broader organization.
  5. Develop and foster strong working relationships with team members while providing expertise and analysis to support the achievement of LG objectives, including monitoring campaign tracking and communicating meaningful results to the team.
  6. Partner with Operations and Communications teams to ensure LG online and email communication is accurate and up-to-date, maximizing donor participation and engagement. Develop and implement strategies to advance communications capacity and inform LG on best practices and ideas.

Impact of Work: Contributes to the IRC’s ability to effectively and efficiently acquire, retain, and upgrade Leadership Gifts level donors by directly supporting cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

Work Experience: 4 years of experience working in an office setting; 2-3 years of experience working in a non-profit development department preferred

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven project management skills;
  • Ability to interpret a broad vision and translate it into actionable steps to drive projects forward;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel;
  • Demonstrated database management skills;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment;
  • A high level of energy, self-confidence, initiative, and follow-through;
  • Solid communication skills: the ability to interact with a variety of people and clearly convey information in writing and in person;
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as take initiative independently;
  • Commitment to respect and maintain confidentiality of donor information.
  • Interest in major gifts and global humanitarian work is preferred
  • Experience with SalesForce, Raiser’s Edge or other donor database management system is preferred
