The role
The Health and Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of the health and nutrition program.
The Health and Nutrition Coordinator also represents the health and nutrition program with local technical partners, Ministry of Health, UN agencies (WHO, UNHCR, UNFPA, UNICEF) and other stakeholders such as local committees and ensure that close cooperation is maintained with them in the implementation of interventions.
He / she is responsible for strengthening the skills and mentor project teams to make them sustainable and autonomous competent in coaching , supervision and strengthening the medical staff of the supported health facilities supported
Qualifications and experience
Essential
- Doctor / Clinical officer with strong nutritional and medical skills, with public health degree
- Experience in the management of acute malnutrition, prevention of malnutrition and maternal and child care.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the coordination of interventions in health and nutrition humanitarian contexts
- Significant working experience in emergency situations or fragile countries
- In-depth knowledge of nutrition and public health
- Demonstrated experience in the clinical management of people living with HIV
- confirmed experience in M & E of health and nutrition projects
- Good analytical skills
- Proven management capacity and motivation of teams and capacity building
- Significant experience in identifying needs, writing project proposals and technical health and nutrition.
- Very good analytical skills and adaptation to different contexts (from humanitarian crises to structural vulnerability)
- Good organisational skills, anticipation and taking initiatives
- Good analytical and problem-solving
- Fluency in spoken and written French, good knowledge of spoken and written English
- Commitment to humanitarian principles
- Flexibility
- Ability to work in unstable environments with basic living conditions.
Desirable
- Experience in coordinating humanitarian health and nutrition projects in unstable contexts
- Experience in the implementation of rapid assessments and drafting concept notes and proposals in health nutrition
