The Foundation is recruiting a Director of Development, a senior role that has been newly created to help the Foundation power its growth and achieve greater impact. The position would be based in London in Thomson Reuters’ office.

Managing a small team, but supported by the entire Foundation, the Director of Development will oversee the mobilisation of restricted and unrestricted income into the Foundation. This role will be responsible for meeting financial targets, as well as pursuing fundraising opportunities globally, and holding key relationships with donors, investors, and stakeholders.

Reporting to the CEO, this leadership role will give you the opportunity to work with a dynamic, ambitious, global team. The role will encompass the following:  

  • Developing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, focused on 2-3 key revenue streams;
  • Identifying new sources of income;
  • Creating a strategic approaches to a wide range of donors including foundations, high net worth Individuals, companies, and others;
  • Cultivating and stewarding key relationships;
  • Creating efficient systems to assist with donor relations;
  • Working closely with the Foundation’s CEO on key strategic initiatives, including Trust Women an influential gathering that brings together global corporations, lawyers and pioneers in the field of women's rights and anti-trafficking;
  • Representing the Foundation at major events and presenting to key partners;
  • Liaising with the Foundation’s finance staff regarding budgets, expenses and income forecasts.

We are looking for:

  • A highly motivated individual with exceptional professional credentials and a strong fundraising background, ideally in major gifts;
  • Extensive experience in grant-writing, monitoring and evaluating;
  • Proven experience working with diverse teams and proven people management skills;
  • At least 10-year experience directly managing high level relationships and stewarding donors from a wide variety of sectors ranging from private donors to corporates to Foundations and family offices;
  • Extensive track record of delivering and over-delivering on financial targets;
  • An excellent confident communicator with first-class written and verbal communication skills.
  • A creative quick thinker who is also a highly motivated self-starter, with an ability to work independently and contribute ideas to the team; and
  • Fluent in English. Additional languages are highly desirable.

This position would be based in London and the salary is commensurate with experience.
