PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

As part of its Women Protection & Development sector, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is currently implementing, with the support of the Novo Foundation, an eight years project called "Women and Girls Rebuild Nations”. The program’s holistic strategy is based on five pillars: Prevention of violence, Empowerment of women, Response to violence, Advocacy and Access to Justice. This project is simultaneously implemented in Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone and Liberia and is now entering its eighth and final year.

NATURE OF POSITION

The WPE coordinator will be responsible for the design, the coordination and the implementation of the final evaluation of the WGRN program. Additionally, he/she will support the realization of a documentary film and an illustrated book.

This position will be based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and it reports to the Deputy Director for Programs. It will require frequent trips to the field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

WGRN’s final evaluation:

• Design an evaluation plan based on the existing indicator matrix.

• Supervise the data collection and compilation;

• Validate and analyze the data;

• Draft and finalize the evaluation report;

• Provide recommendations for future Women Protection & Empowerment programming in Côte d'Ivoire.

Documentary film and an illustrated book:

• Draft a script for a documentary film and a book illustrating the transformative momentum of the WGRN program;

• Select providers for the production of the documentary film and illustrated books;

• Provide supervision and coordination for the production of documentary and illustrated books;

• Ensure dissemination of the final products;

 

PROFILE

  • Master in Social Science or equivalent;
  • At least five years of overseas experience, including substantial management experience in gender-based violence programming and at least 3 years experience in direct service provision for survivors of sexual violence and domestic violence, preferred
  • Proven expertise in project evaluation;
  • Practical experience in artistic creations (photo reporting, documentary film…)
  • Very good knowledge of GBV issues;
  • Prior knowledge of the WGRN program would be a plus;
  • Excellent analytical, synthesis and writing skills;
  • Perfect knowledge of French, good knowledge of English.
