About us
Christian Aid is working in the Philippines to eradicate poverty through the development of resilient and sustainable livelihoods and influencing macro-policy. The Country Manager role in the Philippines will bring dynamic leadership to our staff team enabling them to achieve high impact in our programmes and develop new innovative partnerships across sectors. The post-holder will lead an innovative programme that involves partnerships with local civil society organisations, private sector entities, other international NGOs, government and donor agencies.

About the role

To provide strategic leadership to Christian Aid`s work in the Philippines. To manage, develop and empower staff working for Christian Aid and in-country to take responsibility within a devolved and decentralized region, working within the corporate framework, agreed annual plans, budgets and defined delegations of authority. To be the senior representative of Christian Aid in-country and to develop and promote the country and programme profile within the region and across the wider organization. To contribute to the strategic direction and representation of the region to proactively engage in networks and learning groups and to review and evaluate other programmes and grants across the region or continent as required.

About you
This role requires dynamic leadership to ensure the team achieves high impact in programmes, innovation with partners, allies and donors. The post holder will develop a clear vision for our work in the Philippines, manage security, set budgets, implement strategy and develop effective networks. The role operates within an organisational culture characterised by ambitious goals, strategic thinking, innovation, interdependence, and mutual accountability.

You will have substantial experience of international development work at a senior level; experience of leading and managing teams to demonstrate impact; experience of managing partnerships with civil society organizations and donors; significant programme delivery experience; experience of fundraising from institutional donors as well as experience in humanitarian and emergency assistance.
