The role:                                               To assist with the financial aspects of humanitarian and development programmes

Report to:                                             Finance Manager               

 

Salary Range:                                      Circa 820,000 MMK gross per month

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verify and ensure all payment requests have the necessary documentation and approvals before processing the payment.
  • Ensure that Oxfam financial procedures are followed in country office and field offices, and systems are developed to accommodate the needs of those programmes.
  • Provide financial, administrative, and logistical support to the Finance Manager.
  • Conduct internal audit within Oxfam
  • Maintain and update financial data of Oxfam.
  • Ensure that receipts and utilisation of funds by Oxfam adhere to the legal requirements and Oxfam requirement
  • Assist Finance Manager in organising financial orientation for respective Oxfam teams as applicable to ensure that the financial standards required of them are always maintained
  • Assist Finance Manager in building the capacity of the finance staff and budget holders in term of finance and accounting fundamental according to Oxfam standard
  • Perform daily cash projection and verification tracking
  • Perform internal monthly financial reports in details for respective projects and contracts
  • Perform monthly financial statement particularly balance sheet reconciliation for Oxfam
  • Assist Finance Manager in donor reporting
  • Coordinate with Logistic and Admin Team in Asset Management
  • Coordinate with HR Team in staff salary allocation
  • Provide support by undertaking any other additional functions as delegated by the line manager
  • Backup Finance Manager when needed.
  • Ensure the implementation of Oxfam’s gender and diversity policies in all aspects of finance policy and practice.

 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

  • Education to part-qualified level with proven accounting experience
  • Ability to implement Oxfam`s financial policy and procedures and good practice/systems
  • Good computer skills, especially in e-mails, internet, word processing and spread sheets essential
  • Able to work under minimum supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and to liaise with several different departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure, particularly during humanitarian emergencies when the transactions are scaled up significantly
  • Ability to prioritize own workload, to work independently and to work to deadlines.
  • Previous work experience ideally with non-government organizations would be an advantage.
  • Well developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to gender and diversity issues.
