Oxfam's Campaigns, Policy, and Influencing Team aims to strengthen the power of people to influence people with power. In order to have the greatest impact, we need robust evidence about gender (in)justices and positive alternatives. And we need you to make it happen.

The role

You will be based in Oxfam’s Research Team and will provide solid intellectual thinking and analysis on gender inequality and feminist economics. You will help implement Oxfam’s strategic goal of advancing gender justice and women’s rights by increasing its capacity to deliver gender-focused research and mainstream a critical gender perspective in all research. You will strengthen Oxfam’s contribution to the evidence base of economic indicators from a feminist economics’ perspective, including the unpaid economy and care work. You will draw on information collected in the course of Oxfam’s development programming and external sources to advance our understanding of gender justice, and effectively communicate findings to colleagues in campaigning, programming and communications.

What we're looking for

You will bring a strong background of working on women’s empowerment and economics in international development. You will be technically competent in economic analysis and the use of quantitative data to question gender inequalities for advocacy and programming. And you will be keen to take a central role in advancing the work on gender justice and the economics and political economy of development within Oxfam’s overall research. We'll expect you to be a clear and strategic researcher and writer, able to make complex technical information accessible and usable by non-specialists. You'll need to be able to work in English and French/Spanish, and share our passion for and commitment to eradicating poverty.

About Oxfam

A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
