The Role:
The Program Manager (PM) is a member of Save the Childrenâs International's (SCI) Program Operations Team. Under technical guidance from the Food Security & Livelihoods (FSL) Technical Backstop and line management of the Field Office Manager, the Program Manager will be responsible for managing, planning and implementing a cash/voucher distribution program throughout the Sulaymaniyah governorate and surrounding communities. The Program Manager will be responsible for (1) developing monthly/quarterly plans based on master plans, (2) ensuring implementation of all activities to achieve expected results with high quality and (3) information / data collection and reporting (narrative). Further s/he will support identification of unmet needs for IDPs and refugees in coordination with team members and FSL Technical Backstop and take necessary actions. The Program Manager will also ensure that project activities follow Save the Children programming principles and approaches, draw on relevant best practices and lessons learned, improve the wellbeing of the target communities, and are compliant with donor regulations
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential
- Strong experience (5-6 years) in livelihoods or cash and voucher programs an international organization, including experience managing humanitarian programs.
- University degree and professional trainings relevant to the Program Manager role as described
- Understanding of and commitment to Save the Children aims, values and principles, including rights-based approaches in development programming
- Proven Program management skills including planning and budget tracking capacities
- The ability to think critically and to recommend good solutions to problems.
- Strong organizational skills
- Proven ability to lead a team and being part of a team
- Ability to mentor staff to work professionally and verifiably deliver results for project participants
- Ability to travel independently throughout Kurdistan Region of Iraq , including to rural communities
- Willingness and ability to work long hours
- Strong English, written and spoken.
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Desirable
- Experience in the region.
- Language skills in Arabic/Kurdish
