Contract length: 12 months The role The Director of Program Development and Quality shares in the overall responsibility for the direction and coordination of the Country Office program. As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) in the oPt, the Director of Program Development and Quality is responsible for overseeing the development of high quality, innovative programs that deliver immediate and lasting change for children and monitoring the quality of the implementation of those programs. The position holder oversees the advocacy, communications, documentation, and MEAL portfolios and ensures the delivery of technical assistance and appropriate monitoring through the in-house team and with the members of Save the Children. S/he and the team provide support to emergency response through provision of technical support, monitoring and evaluation, documentation, communications and advocacy. The position is based in Occupied Palestinian territories (oPt)-Ramallah Qualifications and experience * 7-10 years of experience in management experience in a corporate or an NGO environment, preferably including experience directing and implementing programs for children in both emergency and development contexts. * Substantial and demonstrated experience in managing MEAL, advocacy, communications strategies and programme development and design. * Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is required (social science or development field) * Solid experience of developing and managing monitoring and learning systems * Good analytical skills. Effective negotiator, with the ability to positively influence cross departmental and cross sector working * Strong advocacy and policy development experience and skills a must * Proven ability to lead proposal development teams * Credibility to lobby, influence and represent Save the Children at all levels * Demonstrate ability to manage resources, provide / facilitate training , capacity building, coaching, and mentoring of staff and partner. * Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches * English required and ability to communicate in Arabic highly desired We need to keep children safe so our selection process reflects our commitment to the protection of children from abuse.
