Contract length: 12 months


The role
The Community Case Management (CCM) Program Manager will lead Save the Children’s CCM programme in South Sudan and will have overall responsibility for programme leadership, direction, coordination, management and implementation of the Global Fund/DFID funded CCM interventions.

Responsibilities will also include managing human and financial resources, preparing program reports and ensuring safely and security of the staff. S/he will work under the supervision of the Director Program Operations and in close coordination and collaboration with Ministry of Health authorities and staff at national, state and county levels. S/he will also be a technically advisor to the Save the Children country office and Ministry of Health and contribute to strengthen their capacity in Community Case Management of pneumonia, malaria and diarrhoea.

Qualifications and experience

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or related training
  • Medical Doctor desirable
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a community-based health program.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in a senior management position in an International Non-Governmental Organization.
  • Capacity to implement a community-based health program.
  • Experience with the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI)
  • Experience working with communities of diverse cultural practices and low literacy levels.
  • Computer literacy with advanced word processing, spreadsheet and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills.
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to supervise and motivate staff.
  • Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues.
  • Experience of establishing strong and constructive working relationships with colleagues from different functions and organizations.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation of community-based health programs.
  • Ability to frequently travel to the field sites and work in hardship, insecure remote and non-accompanied locations.
  • Commitment to the values and principles of Save the Children.
