About the role

We are recruiting a Country Director for Bangladesh one of our largest country programmes. Based in Dhaka, the Country Director will be the most senior representative, working closely with governments, donors and other key stakeholders to deliver essential family planning and reproductive health care services, and empowering women to choose as to when they have children.

In Bangladesh a 2,300 strong team deliver life-changing services to 2 million clients, with an annual budget of c.$17m.

The Bangladesh programme has recently gone through a large expansion and now consists of 141 clinics and 600 outreach sites, delivering a wide variety of channels and services. The programme is very well respected in Bangladesh and there is great potential to develop further as a social business.

As the Country Director you will lead a skilled professional country team through the next expansion phase valuing and rewarding high performance, accountability, speed and efficiency and innovation, while keeping the client at the heart of everything you do. You will lead in the development of new business opportunties overseeing financial, administrative and logistical resources; and ensuring adherence to MSI minimum standards; and assuring quality operations in line with annual and long-term strategic goals and objectives.

About You

We see the successful candidate bringing to the role an understanding of the development sector and an entrepreneurial approach. You will have had experience in an organisation to the scale of Marie Stopes Bangladesh, executed successful change management projects and rolled out systems in complex environments.

In addition, you will have worked challenging environments as well as designed and delivered strategic and annual business plans and income generation through donor funding, and/or commercial activities. You will have financial and reporting management experience, to include managing and improving the bottom line and the ability to generate, track and analyse management information and client data to inform management decision-making. In addition you will be a motivational leader with strong communication skills with the ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders, as well as motivated to deliver tangible results for the organisation and to manage change successfully.
