CBM is also recognised as a collaborating organisation by the World Health Organization (WHO) and has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Together with its partner organisations, CBM is active in more than 670 projects in 65 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and in 2014, reached more than 14 million people.

Director Transformation

Location: Bensheim, Germany

Contract Duration: 2 years

Contract Start: As soon as possible

Objective:
The Director Transformation will pro-actively lead the organizational development process of CBMeV and its regional and country offices worldwide. The position holder is responsible for enhancing CBM’s internal change processes and organizational infrastructure that will allow CBM to continue to grow and fulfil its mission and vision. The incumbent will directly report to CBM’s President and CEO. The incumbent will regularly be invited to the CBMeV’s Executive Management Team (EMT) meetings to align the transformation management work packages and to report on progress made.

Main tasks

  • While the Director Transformation does not have supervisory responsibility, this person will have to work through many other people in the organization to succeed. The incumbent will act as a coach for senior leaders and executives in helping them fulfil their role as change sponsor
  • The position holder may also provide direct support and coaching to front-line managers and supervisors as they help their direct reports through transitions. S/he will also support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans and activities
  • S/he is responsible for the design and delivery of an overall Change Management Strategy and Implementation Plan for CBMeV offices worldwide by developing and applying a structured methodology and by leading change management activities such as mitigation of risks and management of anticipated work force resistance
  • As the CBM Family is a federation with many legally independent entities, the job incumbent should also ensure that all change initiatives launched within CBMeV are compatible with the Member Associations
  • Communicate planned changes to Member Associations and other stakeholders, outlining potential impact, risk analysis and service improvements for buy-in and implementation
  • Serve as Change Agent and Change Facilitator to support respective projects and initiatives regarding complex process and implementation issues
  • Support and engage senior leaders and their teams
  • Coach managers and supervisors on Change Management topics
  • Closely collaborate with the President and CEO to provide organizational development support and guidance to CBM’s e.V. offices
  • Facilitate and support communication between staff and the Executive Management Team
  • Coordinate efforts with other stakeholders like the group of CBMeV’s Global Advisors
  • Manage the change portfolio and work load by effectively implementing appropriate tools such as stakeholder assessments, change readiness analyses and strategies
  • Produce and disseminate regular reports on the transformation progress to the CBM Family (Regional Directors; Country Representatives and National Directors)
  • In alignment with the CBMeV Communication Manager, manage communication to CBMeV staff on transformation topics (e.g. at staff meetings)



Professional Profile and Requirement

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification (MBA, Master’s Degree)
  • Strong international experience preferably in a senior management role for minimum 10 years with progressive experience in leading organizational development processes
  • Proven track record in leading change and transformation management initiatives in international organizations
  • Quick understanding of organizational culture and the implications of a culture shift
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to CBM’s vision and mission and values
  • Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
