Are you skillful in sewing, making accessories and crafts work? Do you enjoy making things with your hands? Would you like to use those skills for training families and supporting them in taking care of their children? Then join us!

You will be joining the multi-disciplinary team of Friends-International (FI) comprised of over 600 professionals committed to creating innovative social service for youth, children and families worldwide.

What will you do?

As a Technical Advisor for Home Based Training your mission will be to support families in gaining technical skills that will enable them access to employment.

This includes producing a training curriculum adapted for home based setting, building the capacity of local trainers to grow the skills of families and ensuring the high quality of products made by the families.

Initiatives to develop include the following:

  • Designing a skills training curriculum and a skills assessment tool for the families
  • Developing training for trainers and building capacity of our local teams to ensure skills development of the families we work with
  • Working with our programs and partners worldwide to adapt and implement the Home Based Training to their local context
  • Setting up quality and safety standards and processes
  • Oversee the training across our programs and ensure high quality standards are being met and best practices shared
  • Working with the product development team to develop new exciting products that families will be able to make and that we are also able to sell to customers

About you:

  • You have sound skills in sewing, making crafts, accessories and different items; and skills in simple production
  • You have passion for training and building the capacity of others
  • You have experience working with marginalized population
  • You have the ability to collaborate and coordinate well with multiple teams
  • You are a highly independent and dynamic leader who enjoys spending time on the field 
  • You enjoy spotting opportunities to improve and develop new solutions to the organization

 

You will be based in our Head Quarters in Phnom Penh with occasional travels nationally and in the region
