Under the supervision of the General Coordinator, and in close consultation with the logistical/administration Coordinator, Medical Coordinator, and the Mental Health coordinator, the Program coordinator will ensure that communication between the teams and partner’s PHCC, is effective.

For more than 30 years, Médecins du Monde, a campaigning medical organisation committed to international solidarity, has been caring for the most vulnerable populations at home and abroad. It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies. Those working for this independent organisation do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations. MdM currently works in 41 countries across all continents where it focuses on 4 priority areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced persons, promoting sexual and reproductive health, combating HIV and reducing the harm and risks associated with drug use, crises.

The goal of MdM in Lebanon is to offer care to the Syrian civilian and Lebanese vulnerable population conflicts.

Following the assessments in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Syria, the activities have started on Syrian borders, since the beginning of May 2012, offering primary and specialized health care services for refugee and displaced Syrian populations.

Under the supervision of the General Coordinator, and in close consultation with the logistical/administration Coordinator, Medical Coordinator, and the Mental Health coordinator, the Program coordinator will ensure that communication between the teams and partner’s PHCC, is effective.

He/she will participate to the elaboration of our strategy and our activities with partners: assessment of the needs, implementation of activities, including the definition/implementation of the MOU and support needed

1. Partnership Management

- Support the Implementation of sub-granted activities with partners as defined in MOU

- Monitor on a regular basis the different components of the sub-granted activities and coordinate corrective measures in case of need with partners

- Coordinate with the mental health coordinator on the integrated program with partner PHC’s.

- Manage the partners reporting (activity and financial) in coordination with the medical coordinator and the Log/admin coordinator

- Evaluate the needs and request of our partners in coordination with medical coordinator.

- Coordinate and facilitate the monthly partners meeting between coordination team and partners (medical technical review, coordination, medical consultation reimbursement follow up)

- Support organization and planning of weekly activities in supported PHCCs.

- Ensure with the coordination team the compliance with DFID logframe indicators

- Ensure the pilot management and research to explore/develop an innovative partnership between AMEL and MdM association in link with MdM HQ

- Capitalize finding on partnership modalities and analysis to contribute to the new associative project of MdM for MdM University of Autumn.

2. Capacity building management

- Coordinate with medical coordinator and partners all support activities to improve quality of care in PHCC (services organisation, protocol implementation/adaptation)

- Manage in coordination with the log/admin coordinator team the support needed to ensure partner’s capacity to deliver financial report, budget monitoring and procurement procedure.

- Manage in coordination with the Medical coordinator the support needed to ensure partner’s capacity to manage pharmacy supply and stock properly.

3. Coordination and reporting

- Participate to the different humanitarian meetings in the Bekaa in coordination with partners

- Facilitate coordination between MdM partners & other humanitarian actors when needed

- Contributes to the monthly reporting.

- Contribute in the DFID quarterly report on activity.

- Participate in monitoring security issues in the different locations and reports back any incidents to the General Coordinator and the security officer.

- Knowledge of program management
- Experience in humanitarian response
- Experience in capacity building & in working with partners
- Capacity to work in an volatile security context and able to apply strict security rules
- Capacity to create relationships with the communities
- Ability to manage a team composed of partners and work in an international team
- Ability to have a global overview of a program and long terms strategy
