The University of Huddersfield is seeking to appoint a Research Projects Manager for the CSRC to lead on the planning and delivery of externally funded projects in Africa. This work will build on an excellent REF2014 result for the Centre’s work in Africa.
You will have experience of developing and implementing research and development projects in Africa, of managing and coordinating the work of field staff, as well as researching, developing, submitting and delivering on funding bids.
You will be comfortable working in partnership with others and have experience of building teams to implement projects of varying size, up to several million pounds. You will be familiar with the analysis and evaluation of project data and the production and presentation of formal project reports and documentation and have experience of publishing material, preferably at an academic level.
You will hold a Higher degree (Doctorate or Masters) in relevant area (environmental management, rural enterprise development and eco-development, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa) and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a pro-active and problem-solving approach.
