As our culturally aware, meticulous and organised Cash Transfer Operations Manager you'll regularly deploy on short to medium-term assignments around the world, supporting the effective delivery of cash transfer programming and thus increasing the positive impact we have on the lives of children.

Working in more than 120 countries, we do whatever it takes to create breakthroughs in the way the world treats children. Our Humanitarian department integrates emergency and development work, through our country programmes. It increases our capacity to meet the assistance and protection needs of children and their families affected by crises. Together, we save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential.

In this pivotal role you'll design and drive the success of our cash transfer programmes, witnessing the impact that well-run programmes have on those in need. You will be deployed as a field or head office level manager to support the set-up and / or implementation of such programmes in an emergency response, advising on all relevant areas, working with other teams to develop tools, templates and safety and security procedures, and playing a key role in building capacity at field level. You will also:

  • Support the management of multiple grants across multiple sectors, where there is a large cash transfer component
  • Help develop a response and sectoral strategy, and full proposal and log frames for the field base or area
  • Feed into multi-agency co-ordination, lending support to clusters as appropriate
  • Manage and motivate in-country or response staff to perform highly in their respective roles and responsibilities
  • Comply with and promote Save the Children's global policies, and represent our principles and work to external parties when required.

To be successful you will be patient, personable and calm under pressure, with extensive overseas experience in humanitarian emergencies in an operational capacity (finance, logistics, security, internal controls) and particular expertise in the area of cash transfer. You will be highly flexible, someone who's ready and willing to be internationally deployed at short notice, and who's able to thrive in complex and changing environments. You will also have:

  • Experience of heading up a national and / or small ex-pat team, of budgeting for cash transfer programmes, and of introducing internal controls systems to support CTP delivery
  • A background working in insecure environments, adapting internal processes to mitigate security risks
  • Understanding of field level representation with key stakeholders, co-ordination with other NGOs / UN, and of M&E and beneficiary accountability
  • The ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people, alongside excellent planning, management and co-ordination skills
  • Fluency in a relevant second language.

At Save the Children our mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. If you share our mission, are passionate about making it happen and strongly believe you can contribute then join us and we'll give you every opportunity to succeed. We look forward to hearing from you.

Closing date 31st July 2016.

Please note; shortlisting will be conducted on a rolling basis, and tests/interviews may be conducted prior to the advertising close date.
