The role

As Oxfam’s Knowledge Management and Learning Lead you will provide leadership for Oxfam GB and Oxfam International’s vision to become a knowledge broker of development and humanitarian thought and practice. You will ensure that learning is drawn out of Oxfam programmes, synthesized and shared appropriately, both internally and externally to continually improve programme quality and effectiveness.

Reporting to the Head of Programme Strategy and Impact Team (PSIT) you will play a full role in the PSIT Leadership team and directly manage two units to deliver evidence of learning from programmes and communicate Oxfam’s policy to external audiences, and by contributing and to develop Oxfam’s knowledge sharing platforms, including i-library and the Policy and Practice website. You will also play a significant role in determining Oxfam’s future direction by supporting innovation around how knowledge is shared and used around the Oxfam International confederation. You will also work to work with fundraising teams to identify and secure funding for knowledge management, learning and communications.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an inspirational leader with an understanding of development and humanitarian work, and experience of strategic leadership in knowledge management, learning or communications. You will have significant operational and people management experience with financial management abilities. You will have a proven track record of working collaboratively in complex and diverse environments, including working with governments, donors, NGO’s, institutions and companies and have the ability to influence. Our work focuses on understanding the beliefs, practices and policies which constrain women’s participation in rural livelihoods and increase their vulnerability to shocks – you will be able to demonstrate your knowledge and experience of the challenges faced.

And as well as having strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, you’re results driven and capable of facilitating change.

About Oxfam

A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.

This is a full-time open ended position.
