About the COP21 Digital Campaigner

We’re looking for a talented, dynamic, French-speaking digital campaigner based in France (preferably in Paris) who has the ability to craft compelling and engaging content for 350.org and a multitude of partners in the CC21 coalition.

This position will provide additional global digital campaigning capacity for our global mobilizations in September, November and December 2015, with a strong focus on the mobilizations happening in Paris during the COP21. 

This is a full time contract until December 31, 2015, with possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

  • Writes e-mail blasts for international and French audiences (in English and French) in the lead up and during the Paris mobilizations (from August 2015 - December 2015)
  • Manages an e-mail blast calendar in cooperation with Paris-focused teams within 350.org, as well as coalition
  • Provides e-mail blast language for 350.org Regional Teams and partners
  • Manages and monitors coalition social media channels
  • Develops and monitors a social media strategy and a calendar
  • Creates and publishes content on coalition and 350.org social media channels, and makes them available for partners and 350 staff
  • In conjunction with Translations team, provides translated social media content for multiple Regional teams, and e-mail blasts in strategic languages
  • Manages Coalition “main” web hub
  • Writes blog posts for 350.org’s and coalition websites

Required Qualifications:

  • Verbal and written fluency in English and French
  • Excellent writing skills  for a variety of audiences and platforms
  • A good eye for design
  • Highly organized and able to deliver multiple projects at once to a consistently high standard
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the climate movement
  • 2-5 years of experience on issue advocacy, online organizing and/or political campaigns
  • Experience in social media, digital storytelling and developing content for an online audience
  • Experience using graphic design programs
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in close coordination with a team working remotely, and/or with a coalition of multiple stakeholders

Highly Welcome Skills and Experience

  • Basic front-end web development skills -- HTML and CSS
  • Knowledge of databases and SQL language
  • Training and facilitation skills and experience
  • Experience using some (or all) of the online platforms employed by the digital team, including but not limited to Action Kit, Action Network, WordPress, and Control Shift Labs

Location: Paris, France 

Position Type: This is a full time contract until December 31, 2015, with possibility of extension
