Role overview
The volunteer will work collaboratively with Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) in Mtwara, Lindi, Morogoro, Dar es Salaam, and Pwani teachers within and selected master craftspeople in 9 District and municipal councils from the 5 regions by providing advice, coaching, training to the identified marginalized youth and where possible support other workshops in metal works and aluminium fitting and related operations. The volunteer will also participate in developing/reviewing curriculum, developing adapted vocational training manual for the marginalized youth and courses for master craftspeople

Skills, qualifications and experience required
 University degree in Metal Work or Diploma in Vocational training or QTS certification with particular experience in steel work, metal sheet work, pipe fitting and aluminum fitting.
 Experience of three or more years in teaching methodology from vocational training facility or related institution is highly recommended for this position
 Have at least two years experience in the practical vocational training
 Experience in management information systems

Essential:
 Design - skills and knowledge on design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
 Production and Processing Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
 Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
 Public Safety and Security Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
 QTS in vocational training in welding, pipe fitting and aluminium fitting specialty.
 Facilitation and negotiation skills
 Computer literacy and ability to use effectively word processing (window, excel, word) and modern communication tools (internet, LAN, email, website surfing and related software)
 Confident in training, communication and presentation with competencies in coaching others
 Understanding Kiswahili would be an added advantage

Desirable:
 Good organizational and interpersonal skills
 Experience of working in a developing country.
 Experience in working with poor communities and community institution

Personal Qualities:
 Flexible and adaptable
 Ability to work sensitively within a socially strong cultural environment,
 Able to use own initiative and communicate confidently and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
