Salary: £30,647 – £42,859 net per annum pro rata, (net salary means that Oxfam GB will meet the tax and social security liabilities of post-holder in addition to net salary)

Contract Type: Fixed term – 1 year

Hours: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week

Location: Nepal

This is an opportunity to work with CD and Senior Managers to develop long term vision and strategic planning to achieve significant impact from a major programme unit. You will ensure that Oxfam GB manages and influences significant and high profile external relationships. Whilst providing leadership of specific major program unit (Nepal Response) including setting and leading the delivery of specified programme unit and/or team objectives.

In this role you will produce, assimilate, analyse and use programme information from varied and diverse sources to provide in-depth analysis in the specific programme unit or policy area, and work autonomously with significant financial, human resource, security and representational responsibility.

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate the following:

  • Post graduate degree in international development, sustainable livelihoods, humanitarian, programme management or closely related fields.
  • A minimum of six years of experience in the field leading development and humanitarian programmes in one or more challenging contexts in developing countries.
  • Good understanding of development issues in general with significant knowledge and experience in one of the fields of: (a) sustainable livelihoods or, (b) emergency preparedness and response.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian principles and how it is applied in emergency contexts, based on experience from different countries
  • Proven experience of building and leading diverse teams and; evidence of managing large complex teams.
  • Excellent in communication and bringing teams together and focussing on high performance and a high degree of getting things done without losing sight on the strategic direction.

 

THIS IS A FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 1 YEAR WITH A POSSIBLE EXTENSION.
