Job profile

CAFOD, one of the UK’s leading international aid agencies, is currently looking for two International Programme Funding Officers.

CAFOD offers the opportunity to join a newly set up and dynamic team supporting CAFOD’s fundraising and contract management from institutional donors. You will work for a large respected INGO seeking to bring real change in the lives of poor people, and help us translate our plans for development and justice into reality. You will support our programme colleagues and partners across the globe through providing crucial support and advice on securing funds from institutional donors, ensuring appropriate relationships are maintained and systems are in place for us to maximise our income from these donors.

Job role

You will work within the new International Programme Funding Unit (IPFU), responsible for maximising CAFOD’s income from institutions, in collaboration with funding officers located across programme and emergency response teams. You will lead on establishing and maintaining relationships with key allocated donors, such as Comic Relief and the Big Lottery Fund, as well as developing donor funding engagement strategies, providing advice and guidance to funding and programme colleagues, undertaking proposal development and contact management, and sharing learning with colleagues through a Community of Practice.

We are recruiting two similar roles, one of which will have a particular focus on fundraising from and engagement with our sister Caritas agencies in the Caritas Internationalis confederation.

Your profile

We are keen to hear from you if you have experience of international development and working with institutional donors. You will need to be fluent in English with excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills, inter-cultural sensitivity and confidence in supporting NGO and faith-based partners. You should have experience developing donor expertise for both proposal development and contract management, and developing engagement strategies and related training materials. You should be able to travel overseas for periods of 1-3 weeks, up to 4 times a year, occasionally at short notice.

Come and join us and help make a real difference in the lives of the world’s poorest communities.

CAFOD is an equal opportunities employer. Recruitment and selection procedures reflect our commitment to child protection.
