If you want to expand your nonprofit career growth potential, you need to compare the advancement opportunities in your current job with the development opportunities of a regional office.

For example, take a look at this search. We are looking for a junior level development professional to help us keep track of our donor proposals, projects, and reports – these key components represent the fuel that keeps us moving forward and are vital to our operations. As a result, you will be connected to a wide network within our organization, both at the Asia Pacific regional level and at the country level.

If you have a love of database management, can’t imagine life without researching and writing reports all the while having an uncanny affinity for detail oriented work – you might have found your dream job. If you’re still interested, here’s what year one is all about.

What’s Involved

  • Manage the maintenance, integrity, and collection of every single grant proposal, project, and monitor reporting for our Asia Pacific Regional Grant Library. As part of this, inspire and support our 18 Branch offices and National Organizations to fully embrace and utilize our online Grant Library.
  • Gather secondary research to bring clarity to project proposals and improve the quality and suitability. Create country profiles and conduct donor mapping to capture and analyze the data in order to capitalize on funding opportunities aligned with Habitat initiatives within the country.
  • Organize country coordination meetings between Asia Pacific country support team and the country representatives. Manage the logistics of the meetings, including staff travel.
  • Provide support to various key personnel in proposal writing, utilizing logical framework methodology and based on data collected from the country program, the country context and incorporating any applicable donor guidelines and/or strategy.

Realistically, we’re looking for an experienced researcher/writer who moves effortlessly between project research and report writing. Additionally, we need someone who is can keep up with our constant stream of incoming data, deadlines, and demands. A bachelor’s degree would enhance your credibility, especially if you hold a certification in project management. If you have all this, your team might just wonder how they functioned without you.

While all this is a great opportunity for a junior professional to learn and develop, we haven’t even mentioned the best part – The People. We’re not just referring to the amazing people you’d be working with; we also mean the people whose lives are impacted every day by the work that we do and the hope that we build.

Desired Skills & Expertise
If you can accomplish the above, you might just be the right person for the job. Realistically though, you need a bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years nonprofit work experience. If you have a project management certification, you’ll bring a needed skillset to this role and efficiently transition into the position. Information management expertise is crucial to success.
