Join ActionAid International as Media Officer and you will be part of a global team helping people use their own power to fight poverty and injustice. Working with communications staff in 45 countries you will use your considerable mediaskills and experience to increase awareness and impact of ActionAid’s work and campaigns.
As Media Officer you will develop and implement proactive media strategies, respond to media opportunities and provide media support and coordination to the federation. This will include producing high quality media and communications materials, building and maintaining media contacts, monitoring and evaluating our media coverage, and delivering media advice and training. Important will be the ability to raise the bar and improve editorial quality in line with our brand and core messages.
A graduate with prior experience of working with the media, ideally in an international context, you will have a nose for a good story and strong editorial skills. You will be the kind of person who keeps calm under pressure, can juggle multiple tasks and deadlines, and takes the initiative when needed. You are an excellent team player with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills as well as great at building good working relationships quickly.
