The position

We are seeking a Finance Manager who will be responsible for financial accounting with specific responsibilities for Management Accounting, Compliance , Balance Sheet control and supporting the Foundation’s Program Directors and Managers in the Foundation. This role will report to the Finance Director of the Foundation.   

Key Responsibilities

1.     Responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts in collaboration with the Finance Analyst and the Finance Manager – Financial and Project Reporting. This will include analyzing and investigating payroll control account, variances with operational, corporate, SSC teams ensuring all key control accounts are reconciled.

2.      Help ensure that Risk-management and compliance control frameworks are in place, monitored and updated in line with organizational and legislative changes.

3.     Supports the preparation of the organization’s statutory / annual accounts for the Group and subsidiaries.

4.     Support the financial risk aspects of establishing new programs and other legal entities globally, working with the Finance Manager and relevant colleagues in the UK, regions and countries.  Put appropriate control and compliance frameworks in place.

5.     Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.

6.     Supports the Finance Director in preparing budgets.

7.     Support the preparation of information for grant audits and assist in providing responses to questions from the external auditors.

8.     Other ad-hoc responsibilities as required.

Qualifications and Experience

-        Part or Qualified Accountant. Bachelors Degree.

-        Financial analysis-related experience required including management information reporting – Essential

-        Charity Experience in Statutory and Project reporting both local and group level – Essential

-        Financial control and compliance – Essential

-        Highly motivated with ability to work independently or in a team environment and drive results; a self-starter and able to work with changing priorities and time pressures.

-        Strong written and oral communication skills; proven ability to relate to all levels of management and both finance and non-finance staff.

-        Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, quantitative and investigative skills; ability to present complex data in a simplified and meaningful way.

-        Experience with SAP / excellent Excel skills a must.
