About the role

Based in London and offered as a contract until January 2016, ideally starting December 2015 (maternity cover) and reporting into the Director of Strategic Projects, the Strategic Projects Advisor provides strategic direction and project management for grants from one of the organisations largest donors (a private foundation).

As Strategic Projects Advisor you will have the opportunity to oversee a £30 million project covering 18 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and other grants totalling £25million for projects in the donor's priority countries.

You will be responsible for coordinating and advising on these projects including project design, set up, monitoring, and supporting country programme implementation in collaboration with our support and technical teams. The role works closely with Regional / Country Directors, Finance, Programme Officers and across our International Programmes Department.

The role plays a critical role in donor relationship management including effective and timely reporting. You will serve as an important internal resource and 'donor champion'.

There will be the opportunity to travel to the programmes a couple of times during the year.

About you

This is a high-profile role that requires excellent financial analysis skills, strong communication and facilitation skills, analytical and problem solving skills, excellent ability to work across teams to deliver results, and great attention to detail. We see you bringing to the role significant work experience at a comparable agency or organisation essential (such as an international NGO, donor agency, or private foundation), with strong proposal, report writing and grant management experience.

Salary c.£38,200 + pension. Negotiable on experience
