The programme will be covering a wide scope of immunisation-related topics: the role of vaccines in public health, new and emerging issues particularly around COVID-19 vaccines, and the responsibility of media in educating the public about misinformation on vaccines and immunization.

The programme consists of 4 days of online training, followed by 4 days of one-to-one online mentoring for all participants.

Trainers will include former senior journalists from international media outlets such as Reuters and BBC, with guest speakers from the science and health professions.

£250 story grants and ongoing mentoring for 8 weeks will be available to selected applicants following the course.

Applicants who are interested in issues related to health reporting and the current issues on immunisation are encouraged to apply, as well as specialist health reporters. Applicants should have a minimum of two years’ professional experience and a good level of spoken and written English to apply to the English-language course, or a good level of spoken and written Russian to apply to the Russian-language course.

The deadline is November 22. Successful applicants will be notified by November 25. Thomson Reuters Foundation does not comment on the selection results.
