The Source is an online independent business and financial news platform headquartered in Harare, Zimbabwe, delivering accurate breaking news and in-depth analysis. The service was established by the Thomson Reuters Foundation in 2013, and provides free syndication to other Zimbabwean news outlets in an attempt to foster improvements in the country’s journalistic standards and its professional media environment.

Launched in October 2013, it delivers breaking and exclusive news and in-depth coverage of markets, commodities and companies across all sectors. Since it launched in 2013, The Source has broken major stories on share sell-offs, takeovers, foreign investment deals, mining deals, the precious gem sector, state-owned accounts, mobile tariffs and insurance. All stories published on The Source are original journalism produced by in-house reporters and a robust national stringer network. The Source operates under a Creative Commons licence, and content can be republished by other media outlets.
