Our elections programme aims to hone the skills of journalists to cover elections in a fair and balanced manner. The training focusses on the role of the media in democratic elections, the elements conducive to free and fair elections including informing voters about the process, credibility of election coverage, balanced coverage of candidates, and planning a comprehensive media campaign of the elections and safety in the field.

 Participants work individually and in teams on practical, fun, and memorable exercises to prepare themselves for covering elections to a high standard and will hear from guests speakers on key aspects of election coverage in their country. Training also covers writing skills, sourcing, ethics and legal dangers.
