Richard Brophy

Head of Global Programmes


Richard brings over fifteen years' experience in corporate sustainability and communications to the Foundation. His career has involved helping NGOs, social enterprises, professional services firms and corporates to manage their reputation and achieve social and environmental goals.

Richard spent ten years leading the development of corporate sustainability at two leading international law firms. In addition to managing a growing global CR and pro bono practice, he specialised in particular in business and human rights, climate change and sustainable development and developed both flagship pro bono and commercial initiatives in these areas.

Richard is a founder of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, the professional body for CR and sustainability practitioners. He has been a trustee of a diverse range of charities in the education, technology, legal aid and development sectors during his career. A fellow of the RSA he also holds a masters degree in International Economic Law, Justice and Development from the University of London.
